What is Copernicus

The EU's eyes on Earth

Copernicus is the European Union's Earth observation programme, delivering free and open data and information services from a constellation of Sentinel satellites and contributing missions. Coordinated by the European Commission and implemented with ESA, EUMETSAT and EUSPA, it is one of the world's largest providers of environmental data.

Through six thematic services — atmosphere, marine, land, climate, emergency and security — Copernicus turns raw satellite observations into actionable information. EUSPA promotes the operational adoption of these services across mobility and urban development sectors, helping public authorities and industry put space data to work.
